There is nothing better on the 4th of July than looking up at the sky and seeing fireworks light up the night. What a great way to celebrate the anniversary of our nation’s independence. Please take advantage of this opportunity next week. However, before you do, keep a few safety tips in mind  if you are shooting off your own fireworks. K&N wants to see you in one piece after the holiday.   Don’t Play with Fireworks Fireworks can be fun to watch, but they aren’t toys. No one should ever play with any kind of firework. Even sparklers can get hot enough to melt gold, so be careful.   Only Use Legal Fireworks Legal fireworks are labeled, and directions for use are included on the label. A large amount of injuries are caused by illegal fireworks. Keep your home and your guests as safe as possible, by using only legal fireworks.   Keep Water Nearby It is a good idea to have plenty of water on hand when you light fireworks. A bucket is great. A hose that allow you keep refilling that bucket is even better. Make sure the hose reaches to the area where you are shooting. Saving a few seconds could make all the difference for in protecting your back yard.   Seek Medical Help Immediately if the Need Arises If you or someone at your party is injured by a firework, go to a doctor immediately. If an eye is injured, don’t try to flush it out with water or put ointment on it. If possible, cover the injured eye with the bottom of a paper cup and get to a medical care facility as quickly as possible.   Fireworks are meant to be enjoyed, but you’ll enjoy them much more knowing your family is safe. Take extra precautions this 4th of July, and your holiday will be a blast!

Nothing says the 4th of July like fireworks lighting up the sky.  Numerous shows around town provide the opportunity to celebrate our nation’s independence in style.

If you want to shoot your own fireworks in your newly renovated back yard, you need to leave the Houston city limits to buy your supplies.  These items are illegal within the city; however, numerous vendors near the border serve city residents.

A Few Shows of Note

Freedom over Texas- Jennifer Nettles is the headline artist at this annual event.  The show takes place at Eleanor Tinsley Park near downtown.

Summer Symphony Nights- The Houston Symphony will give a free concert of patriotic classics at Miller Outdoor Theatre.  The music is augmented by, of course, fireworks.

Summer Symphony Nights(The Night Before)- The Houston Symphony will also be at the Cynthia Woods Pavilion on July 3.  That free concert will also include fireworks and patriotic melodies.

4th Fest in Pasadena- An afternoon of family friendly events concludes with a 20-minute fireworks show.  This free event takes place at the Pasadena Convention Center.

You have worked hard and gotten your outdoor space ready for the summer party season.  You have selected the perfect menu to satisfy your guests and leave them talking.  However, there are a few appliances that every outdoor party needs.  Make sure you add them to your mix.

An Outdoor Refrigerator

Save your guests and yourself additional trips in and out of the house by keeping the food outside in an outdoor refrigerator.  You will give them ready access to cool beverages and additional supplies of cool treats such as dip.  Also, you will keep the door to your house closed so air conditioning doesn’t escape and run up your energy bill.

Warming Drawers

Keep the warm food close at hand as well with warming drawers designed to be outside.  You’ve spent quite a bit of time planning special foods for your guests. Finish the work by making sure those treats stay warm, tasty and easy for your guests to find.

Perlick Kegerator

The only thing better than beer at your summer party is beer served at the perfect temperature from a Perlick Kegerator.  The kegerator will fit in cabinetry if that is appropriate,or it can stand on its own.  It’s sure to be the hit of the party. Just add a keg, and you are ready to pour.

Put the finishing touches on your party plans with these great appliances.  The trio will push your event over the top.  Contact K&N Sales for all of your outdoor appliance needs.

The 4th of July is just around the corner.  With this in mind, now is a great time to start finding the best to add red, white and blue to your home.  Get ready to celebrate our nation’s independence.

Start the Celebration at the Front Door

It makes sense to use the front door to set the tone for your whole home.  Welcome your guests with a patriotic wreath.  You can add your own flair to the creation, but basically you need two American flags attached to a standard wreath and you are ready to go.

Spell it Out

Don’t make people at your party guess.  Spell it out for them.  You can make a statement with large wooden letters from a local craft store.  Add some red, white and blue paint and there will be no mistake that your party is celebrating the U.S.A.!

A Great Idea to Store Your Decorations Until Next Year

After the holiday ends, here is a great idea for storing the decorations you want to use again next year.  You can save thousands on Wood Mode cabinets at K&N Sales during the Pick-Two Customer Savings Event.  Wood Mode Cabinets are a perfect fit for your home.  This sale runs through June 27.

Patriotism Can Quench Your Thirst

Wrap a small flag around a bottle of water and your guests will have a perfect treat to beat the summer heat.  Plastic and cloth flags are recommended over paper flags, which may not hold up to the bottle’s condensation.

A salute to you as you get your house ready to celebrate independence day.  Contact K&N Sales for any assistance you may need preparing your home for the holiday or for every day.
