When is the last time I used this item?

If you haven’t used an item in over six months, you most likely can live without it.  Make a pile of these items that need to be purged and leave it overnight. If you are still ready to part with the pile the next morning, rest assured that it is expendable.

Do I like it?

Although it is simple, this is a useful question to ask.  If you don’t like something, let it go.  Save the valuable space that you have available for things you actually like.

How much is it worth today?

It is difficult to let go of items that you paid a high price for in the past. If you aren’t getting any value out of such items (tangible or intangible), consider getting rid of them.  The extra space you gain will make it worth it.

What do I do with it?

Items that you don’t have room or need for might be useful to someone else.  Various charities in the area are always looking for useful items for their clients.  A few examples are Goodwill, the Salvation Army, and Houston Children’s Charities.  Also, there may be a local organization that serves your community with a donation-driven thrift store.

Start off the year with a more efficient storage plan.  Look for ways to part with those items that you don’t need any more.  Contact K&N Sales for assistance with your storage needs.
