As we all know in Texas, regardless of what the calendar says spring begins in February. With the sun shining and the fresh clean smell in the air, you may catch the Spring Fever to start cleaning. We at K&N Sales couldn’t agree more, so we’ve found some great cleaning tips to get your kitchen back in tiptop shape!

Vent It Out

Do you remember the last time you cleaned your ventilation hood? If you don’t, then it’s time to do it. Cleaning your exhaust fan will help remove more smoke, grease and potential dangerous fumes while you’re cooking. Start by soaking the mesh filter in hot soapy water. Good Housekeeping suggests using a traditional household cleaner or regular dish soap. After five to ten minutes, rinse the filter and let it dry. When cleaning the fan blades, use a damp cloth.

Wishy Washy

Your dishwasher will give you sparkling dishes, but it can also develop grime on the inside due to repeated use. To stop grime in its tracks, Sarah Aguirre, an About.com writer, says to put a cup of baking soda on the bottom of your dishwasher and run it on empty. This quick fix will also help freshen the smell of the dishwasher.

Super Sparkly

When it comes to cleaning stainless steel, remember less is more. Spray a light mist of wax-based aerosol spray and wipe down with a lint-free cloth. Make sure to stay away from using bleach cleaner after the waxy layer because you will lose the luster. Also remember to never use an abrasive cleaner like Scotch-Brite pads, which can scratch and ruin the surface.
