KBIS Finds – Color Trends
What’s trending in kitchen design? If you’re looking for inspiration, look no further than the latest Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) to see the latest trends in kitchen and bath renovation. Eye-catching color is on-trend everywhere from finishes to paint to appliances—let’s take a look!
Going for Gold
Just in time for the Olympic Games, homeowners updating hardware are trending toward gold accents and trim—think “brushed” and subtle rather than bright-and-shiny. These brushed gold accents add warmth and depth to the kitchen and bathroom.
Darker Hues Add Drama
If gold isn’t quite your color, another color trend in hardware is a dark, anodized grey. This easy neutral pairs well with just about any color palette.
If you’re thinking about new cabinetry, dark, Navy blue hues are on-trend for 2018. If a brighter blue is more your hue, try Sherwin-Williams’ Color of the Year—Oceanside is a deep, rich, green-blue teal.
Darker and/or richer colors are also trending when it comes to kitchen appliances. Stainless steel isn’t the only game in town when it comes to kitchen appliances. In 2018, grey flat glass appliances are trending, and you’ll find versions from both Miele and Thermador. We’re also loving the matte black GE appliances that look sleek and also hide fingerprints and smudges. Don’t forget to look at the custom color options from appliance-maker BlueStar, where they have everything from the Pantone Color of the Year UltraViolet to Sherwin-Williams’ Oceanside.
Lapitec® Bathroom Surfaces
We also loved the integrated Lapitec® counters and sinks for bathrooms. Crafted from a single material, this non-porous, solid-surface sintered stone is ideal for bathrooms, due to its stain, mold, humidity, and bacteria resistance.
