Grilling season is about to begin before we know it, but is your grill from the 1990’s up to the task? If not, it’s time to pick out a new grill, but how do you know which one is right for you and your needs? Well, K&N Sales has found some great ideas to help you find the perfect one.

Go For Quantity

CNN Money suggests thinking about how much grill do you really need? Will you be entertaining the masses this spring and summer or just your family of four? Whatever your answer, take it into consideration while looking at grills. For example, if you’ll just be cooking for your family then a 30” grill will be your best bet. If you’re entertaining 20 of your closest friends every other weekend, then you’ll want to consider a 54” grill. You’ll also want to consider what types of features you want. For example, do you want a grill that has an attached warming drawer or an attached gas cooker so you can create a whole meal outdoors? If you feel like those features would be nice but you’re never going to use them, then look for a different grill.

Testing 1...2...3...

Now that you’ve thought about some of your options, it’s time to start looking. While visiting the store, make sure you try a wiggle test on the grill before purchasing it. According to CNN Money, a poorly made grill will wiggle so if it wiggles in the store when you jostle it, then it probably won’t hold up in your outdoor kitchen. Also ask your sales associate to try the dropped lid test. This will help you see if the grill stays lit if the lid drops suddenly or it is very windy.

Fire It Up!

One of our favorite grill companies is Viking. They have a large selection of natural gas and propane grills in a wide variety of sizes. May we suggest the 36’ 300 Series Grill? It features a new Flavor Generator System, white briquettes take the drippings and turn it into smoke to enhance your food’s flavor. It also evenly distributes heat while protecting the burners. It also has an Gourmet-Go Infrared Burner that cooks meat to the perfect temperature with 15,000 BTUs. If you’re looking for something bigger, try Viking’s 54” 500 Series Grill with TruSear. With TruSear technology, this grill will shorten your preheat time and lock in flavor with its intense infrared heat.   Be sure to stop by the K&N Sales showroom today to get the perfect grill for your outdoor kitchen!
