Take Your Kitchen Outdoors
Its beginning to look a lot like Spring Time and that means spending time outdoors, entertaining friends and family with a great meal fresh from the grill. With all the going in and out of your house to get side dishes, plates, etc., you miss catching up with everyone. Now you can stay present for all the action by creating your own outdoor kitchen.
When planning your outdoor kitchen, the ideal location is everything. The first thing to consider is the view your space will have from multiple perspectives. For example, your view of the space from the house, what your guests will see when standing or sitting at the counters, what youll see while youre cooking, etc. Youll also want to make sure you havent positioned your outdoor kitchen upwind from either your home or your neighbors home.
Also think about your ally during the summer months: shade. Choose a location that already sees a lot of shade in your backyard or build one that will provide it. Finally take into consideration the outdoor kitchen\'s access to your gas and electric lines.
HGTV suggests keeping the correct design principles for the functional parts of the kitchen. For example, take into account where you will be placing the grill vs. the fridge vs. the sink and how they can all work together. Youll also want to consider the materials you will be using. Remember countertops, cabinets, appliances, etc. should be able to withstand the Houston weather while being easy to care for.
Once you get your plans worked out, now its time to start looking at your equipment. You probably havent thought about placing cabinetry in your outdoor kitchen, but it should be one of the first items considered. One of the best products is Danver Stainless Steel Cabinets. They are the industrys most extensive line of stainless steel cabinets. join_after_campaign_started from long-lasting, recyclable steel, these cabinets come with a lifetime warranty that promises they will stay beautiful and usable no matter the elements are endured. Danver cabinets and drawers come with several different door and drawer options including open for glass.
Just like in your indoor kitchen you can also have an outdoor dishwasher. Askos D5954 Dishwasher is 18:9 stainless steel so the electronics and wiring are protected from some of Houstons hottest summers. It can hold up to 12 full place settings. It also features fold-down stemware support for wine glasses on the adjustable upper rack. The lower rack has a dedicated spray system on the left side for large bowls, platters and pans. The dishwasher has six wash programs and six wash temperatures up to 160? to get a platter coated with BBQ sauce back to a sparkling clean state.
When it comes to grills, one of our favorite brands is Viking
. They have a large selection of natural gas and propane grills in a wide variety of sizes. May we suggest the 36 300 Series Grill
? It features a new Flavor Generator System, white briquettes take the drippings and turn it into smoke to enhance your foods flavor. It also evenly distributes heat while protecting the burners and has an Gourmet-Go Infrared Burner that cooks meat to the perfect temperature with 15,000 BTUs. If youre looking for something bigger, try Vikings 54 500 Series Grill with TruSear
. With TruSear technology, this grill will shorten your preheat time and lock in flavor with its intense infrared heat.
Never worry about having to go back into the house for drinks or more mustard for your hamburger with an outdoor refrigerator. Alfresco was the first company to introduce a true all-weather refrigerator. One of our favorites is their Under Grill Refrigerators
. This handy appliance makes a full course dinner straight from the fridge to the grill a breeze. They also carry outdoor under the counter refrigerators that can be used as an optional keg.
