Good coffee is a staple in most homes and offices. You need a nice boost of caffeine and its important to know which one is right for you. There are so many different types of coffee that it can be hard to choose which one you like best, let alone know the differences of how to make them all. Let’s discover what goes into brewing each of the different types of coffee you’ve grown to love. Macchiato - A macchiato is an espresso-based coffee drink with a small amount of foamed milk on top. Latte - A latte is an espresso-based drink with added steamed milk and micro-foam on top. Lattes are usually much sweeter compared to an espresso due to the steamed milk. Cappuccino - A cappuccino is similar to a latte, but includes more foam and often times has sprinkles of chocolate on top of the drink. Flat White - You will find flat whites mainly in Australia and New Zealand, but they are slowly making their way stateside as well. Flat whites are made the same ways as a cappuccino, except it doesn’t have any foam or chocolate powder on top. Mocha - Mochas are a cross between a cappuccino and classic hot chocolate. You make a mocha by mixing chocolate powder together with a shot of espresso and adding a touch of steamed milk and micro-foam to the top. Affogato - An affogato more of a dessert than it is a coffee drink, but that doesn’t mean you can’t indulge in it to get your coffee fix. If is made by taking a large scoop of vanilla ice cream and dropping into either a single or double shot of espresso, depending on your preference. Affogatos are the perfect Summer coffee treat.
