Mother’s Day Inspiration
Mother’s Day is right around the corner so we have some great, last-minute gift ideas to share with you! Something Thoughtful A thoughtful Mother’s Day gift can pull the heartstrings of any mom out there. A good example is a jar filled with compliments, memories, etc. The idea is simple. You buy a large jar that can hold a good number of small folded up pieces of paper. After filling the jar with your personalized notes, tell your mom to open it up and read one on days she’s feeling down or just wants something to make her smile. It makes the perfect, heartfelt gift that all mom’s would love. It also happens to be fairly inexpensive so it’s perfect if you’re on a budget or have multiple mothers in your life. Something Homemade Everyone loves a nice meal out, but we all know restaurants tend to get super packed on holidays such as this one. A simple and delicious recipe is a fun way to surprise Mom with.  Kick off Mother’s Day with some French toast! Perfect French Toast Directions Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Whisk 4 eggs, 1 1/2 cups half-and-half or milk, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon sugar and a pinch of salt in a shallow bowl. Heat 1/2 tablespoon butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Working in batches, dip 6 thick slices white bread, challah or brioche in the egg mixture and cook in the skillet until golden, 2 to 3 minutes per side, adding more butter as needed. Transfer to a baking sheet and bake until puffed, 8 to 10 minutes. Meanwhile, melt 4 tablespoons butter in the same skillet until browned, about 5 minutes. Drizzle the French toast with the browned butter and maple syrup. No matter what you decide to do for mom this year, it will be memories she’ll cherish forever.
